Inka trail 2 days / 1 night

Discover Machu Picchu with us, one of the wonders of the world. Starting our journey in the city of Cusco, and ending our trip in the same city. The inka trail is intended for people with not much time, but eager to cross the inka trail off thier list, hiking not too heavy the first day getting to know precious archaeological sites to ultimately get to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. On the second day you will appreciate this wonder with longer since the second day we will enter the Citadel, so the first day you will only appreciate the breathtaking view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding mountains as far as the eye can see. The regulations of the expeditions to the Inka trail says that reservations must be made 5 days before starting your trip, we recommennd booking much earlier, since in high season the quotas for admission to the Inka trail run out 90 days before departure, and only allow 500 people per day to preserve the soils from erosion, contamination of the road network, and the sanctuary of Machupicchu. So it is recommended to pay in advance for your Maccupichu enrty tickets.

Route:

Day 1: Cusco – Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu.   We will pick you up at your hotel or wherever you may be staying (in the city of Cusco) approximatley at 5:45 am to be taken to the train station where you will enjoy a beautiful and eccentric tour on the way up to Km 104 where we will start our hike. From the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2250 m) we will hike hours towards the fascinating archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2650 m) where we will enjoy our picnic. In the afternoon we will continue through the semi-tropical forest towards the “Intipunku” which means (the gate of the Sun) from where you can admire the first panoramic view of the majestic Machu Picchu. From here we will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes where you could take a hot springs bath in the area and settle into the hotel prepared for you. After this we will agree of our dinner time.

 

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco. At the end of our breakfast in the village of Aguas Calientes will ascend in the first bus to Machupicchu to enjoy the sunrise in this magical place before the arrival of other tourists that come directly from Cusco. You will enjoy the tranquility of the lost city of the Incas on a tour guided by our proffesional guide that will accompany you from first day in Cusco until you return. In the afternoon you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes where you can  have your lunch. After that we will take the train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo we will return to your hotel in the city of Cusco in our privat Bus.
