Itinerary

Cusco – Chinchero

After breakfast at your hotel, your bilingual guide will pick you up at approximately 8:30 AM in our private transportation.

We will leave Cusco and travel toward the Sacred Valley, following the scenic route through Chinchero.

Located approximately 28 km from Cusco at an altitude of around 3,873 meters (12,707 feet), Chinchero is a traditional Andean town with strong connections to its Inca heritage.

Here, we will visit the famous Church of Chinchero, explore its colonial architecture, visit the local market, and learn about the traditions and customs of the area.

You will also have the opportunity to see local women wearing traditional Andean clothing and learn more about their culture and way of life.

Chinchero – Cruzpata – Moray

After visiting Chinchero, we will continue by vehicle toward Cruzpata, where we will begin our mountain biking adventure.

Before starting, your guide will provide a safety briefing and make sure your bike and equipment are properly adjusted.

We will then begin cycling through the beautiful Andean countryside toward Moray.

During the ride, you will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers, including Chicón and Veronica (Wakaywillka).

Snacks and cold drinks will be available during the tour to keep you refreshed along the way.

Moray

Upon reaching Moray, we will take a break to explore this fascinating archaeological site.

Your guide will explain the history and significance of Moray and its importance to the Inca civilization.

Moray is famous for its enormous circular agricultural terraces, which descend into the earth like a natural amphitheater. The Incas are believed to have used this unique agricultural system to experiment with different growing conditions and adapt crops to the varied climates of the Andes.

You will have time to explore the site, enjoy the spectacular scenery, and take photographs.

Moray – Maras

After visiting Moray, we will continue our mountain bike route toward Maras.

As we approach Maras, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Sacred Valley and the surrounding mountains.

Upon arrival, your guide will explain the history of this traditional Andean town and its famous salt-producing area.

Maras Salt Mines

The Maras Salt Mines are one of the most impressive landscapes in the Sacred Valley.

Thousands of small salt ponds cascade down the mountainside, where salt has been collected for centuries using natural spring water.

Your guide will explain how the salt is produced and the historical importance of the salt mines to the local communities.

After exploring the salt mines and taking photographs, we will continue our journey by bike toward Urubamba.

Maras – Urubamba

The descent from Maras to Urubamba includes a technical section of trail.

This section is recommended only for experienced mountain bikers who are comfortable riding technical terrain.

For guests who are not comfortable with this section, walking the bike or using the support vehicle for part of the descent is recommended. Your guide will assist you in choosing the safest option based on your experience and the conditions of the trail.

Once we reach Urubamba, we will finish the biking portion of the tour and stop at a local restaurant for lunch.

You will have time to relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and take a break before beginning our journey back to Cusco.

Lunch at the restaurant is not included in the tour price, allowing you to choose what you would like to eat according to your preferences.

After lunch, we will board our private transportation and return to Cusco.

We expect to arrive in Cusco at approximately 5:00 PM.
