One-Day Chili River Rafting Adventure in Arequipa

Known as the “White City” because of its distinctive volcanic sillar stone architecture, Arequipa offers much more than colonial buildings and historic sites. Just outside the city, the Chili River provides an exciting setting for a rafting adventure through a beautiful valley surrounded by dramatic volcanic rock walls.
Our rafting experience takes place approximately 20 minutes from the center of Arequipa, in the Chilina Valley, where the river flows through a scenic canyon surrounded by impressive natural landscapes.
During the approximately 6-kilometer descent, you will navigate a combination of Class I, II, and III rapids while enjoying the scenery and the excitement of whitewater rafting.
The tour operates all year round and offers three departure times, making it easy to fit into your Arequipa itinerary.

Itinerary
Arequipa – Chilina Valley
We will pick you up from your hotel in central Arequipa at your selected departure time in our private transportation.
The drive to the Chilina Valley takes approximately 20 minutes.
Upon arrival at our rafting base, our professional guides will welcome you and provide a comfortable area where you can change and prepare for the activity.
Rafting Preparation
Our rafting team will provide all the necessary equipment, including:
- Wetsuit
- Helmet
- Life jacket
- Water shoes
- Windbreaker
- Paddle
Before heading to the river, our guides will explain the safety procedures and basic techniques you will need during the rafting experience.
Once everyone is ready, we will return to our private transportation and drive approximately 5 minutes to the river.
Chili River Rafting
The rafting adventure begins on the Chili River.
We will navigate approximately 6 kilometers of river, experiencing Class I, II, and III rapids along the route.
The rafting portion lasts approximately 1 hour, depending on river conditions.
Throughout the descent, our professional bilingual rafting guides will accompany you, while a safety kayaker will provide additional support.
As we make our way through the Chilina Valley, you will enjoy views of the surrounding volcanic rock walls and the natural landscapes just outside Arequipa.
End of the Rafting & Return to Arequipa
At the end of the rafting route, we will return to the base where you can change into your dry clothes.
We will provide a small snack after the activity before beginning our return journey.
Our private transportation will then take you back to your hotel in central Arequipa.
